How does voice tracking work?

Teleprompter for Mac uses Apple's on-device Speech Recognition to match your spoken words to the script. All processing happens locally — no audio is sent to any server.

Why does it need Microphone and Speech Recognition permissions?

The microphone captures your voice for real-time speech recognition. You can grant these in System Settings > Privacy & Security. Audio is never recorded or stored.

Can I use it while recording in another app?

Yes! The teleprompter uses a floating panel that stays on top of all windows. It works alongside FaceTime, Zoom, OBS, QuickTime, or any other app.

What macOS version is required?

Teleprompter for Mac requires macOS 14 (Sonoma) or later and runs natively on Apple Silicon.

Is my data private?
