Teleprompter That Works Offline on Mac

Web teleprompters fall apart the moment your Wi-Fi drops, your script goes through someone else's server, and a bad connection ruins a take. Telepront is a native Mac app that runs entirely offline, including the voice-tracking speech recognition. No account, no cloud, no script length cap.

See It in Action

Most teleprompter web apps require a tab open in Safari or Chrome, an account, and a stable connection. They also send your script to their servers, which is a privacy concern for confidential pitches, sermons, legal statements, and unreleased product copy. Telepront takes the opposite approach: it's a sandboxed native Mac app that does everything locally.

Voice tracking is the most demanding feature, and it's also fully on-device. Telepront uses Apple's Speech framework with the requiresOnDeviceRecognition flag, so audio never leaves your Mac. macOS may download the language model on first use, but after that you can be on a flight, in a faraday cage, or in a basement studio and still have voice-driven scrolling.

Scripts are saved in the app's local sandbox. There is no cloud sync, no server-side editor, and no team account. If you want to back up scripts, copy them to iCloud Drive or Notes manually. This is intentional: the app is designed for people who care about their content not leaking into a third-party service.

Telepront is free on the Mac App Store. It supports macOS 14 and later, runs natively on Apple Silicon and Intel Macs, and ships with no advertising, no tracking, and no telemetry.
