Teleprompter That Doesn't Show on Screen Share
If you share a single window or app on Zoom, Google Meet, or Microsoft Teams, Telepront's floating panel stays invisible to everyone else on the call. The prompter floats above your screen but is not part of the window you're sharing, so attendees see only your slides while you read your script. Free native Mac app.
See It in Action
Screen share on macOS comes in three modes: entire screen, a specific window, or a specific app. Entire-screen capture grabs the framebuffer and sees everything, including floating panels and notifications. Window and app capture are scoped: they only stream the pixels that belong to the selected window or app. Anything else floating on top of it on your local screen does not show up on the shared stream.
This is exactly the behavior you want for a private teleprompter. Open your slides in Keynote or PowerPoint, share that window in Zoom, and place Telepront's floating panel on top of the slides. Locally, you see the script. Remotely, attendees see only the slides because the prompter is a separate app's window. The trick works equally in Google Meet's Chrome tab share, Teams' window share, and Webex's app share.
Telepront's floating panel makes this easier because it sits above the shared window without stealing focus. You can read while clicking through your slides, keep voice tracking running, and use keyboard shortcuts to play and pause.
If you must share your entire screen, the prompter will be visible. In that case, drop opacity low or position the panel off the visible area. The cleaner option is always to share a specific window.

Frequently Asked Questions
Will the prompter show if I share my entire screen?
Yes. Full-screen sharing captures everything, including the floating panel. Switch to window-share or app-share to keep it private.
Does this work on Zoom, Meet, and Teams?
Yes. All three offer single-window or single-app sharing modes that exclude floating panels from other apps.
What if I'm using PowerPoint in Slide Show mode?
Share the PowerPoint window directly. The prompter sits above PowerPoint on your screen but is not part of the shared content.
Can I share my browser and still hide Telepront?
Yes. Use the conferencing app's window-sharing option and select the browser window only.
Is the app free?
Yes. Telepront is free on the Mac App Store with no account.
Ready to try it?
